Black Lives Matter Paddle Out Kentucky
Huge thanks to the nearly 70 beautiful people who attended, paid tribute, showed solidarity, and enjoyed community on the water at the Black Lives Matter Paddle Out Kentucky that we hosted on the beach of Fort Boonesborough State Park. Much gratitude goes to Katrisha Waldridge, Frankfort City Commissioner, Martina Jackson for 81st District State Representative, and Matt Walker for joining EKI founder, Gerry Seavo James and delivering powerful messages.
Additionally we're grateful for the people who brought boats and PFDs for attendees who didn't have their own. As a community we observed 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence on the water in honor of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbey and George Floyd. This was deeply emotional experience and for many it seemed like an eternity. Big ups goes to Amanda Rogers Strunk, Dave Forman, Matt Walker, and Evan Young for being part of the planning process for the program.
