First Annual Elkhorn Creek Cleanup

The Explore Kentucky Initiative is proud to announce that we will be partnering with great folks at the Kentucky Waterways Alliance and Canoe Kentucky on September 17th for our First Annual Elkhorn Creek Cleanup!

Participants will have the opportunity to float and clean-up the Canoe Kentucky to US 127 stretch of the Elkhorn Creek. We will meet at Canoe Kentucky’s Peaks Mill Shop at 9:00am ET. Our group will start at the Canoe Kentucky shop and clean up the 6 miles downstream to US 127. We will have multiple land based public creek access sites available as well for anyone who would rather stay dry.

This event is free, and open to anyone who would like to take part. If you can paddle a canoe we’d love to see you there! Registered participants will receive a free canoe rental for the day, shuttle service to and from their chosen float, a provided lunch from Staxx BBQ, and a KWA water bottle.

Rental canoe space is limited to the first 60 participants, so secure your boat today! Additional shuttle service is availale for those who wish to bring their own boat.
