Wild & Scenic Film Festival Hosted By Kentucky Heartwood and the Sheltowee Trace Association

  • Morehead Conference Center 111 East First Street Morehead, KY, 40351 United States (map)

Join us for an inspiring night of film and activism! The Wild & Scenic Film Festival, one of the largest environmental film festivals in North America, is making its debut in Morehead, Kentucky, on Saturday, February 6th, 2016, featuring 14 stunning, inspiring films, and showcasing regional businesses who support outdoor recreation in Kentucky, as well as groups who work on outdoor recreation and environmental issues. We are thrilled to be joining the Kentucky Heartwood and the Sheltowee Trace Association in partnership to bring the film festival to the spacious and welcoming Morehead Conference Center. We will have an informational booth at the festival and premiere a short film about rock climbing in Red River Gorge.

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival informs, inspires and ignites solutions, and creates positive probabilities to restore the earth and human communities. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival was started by the watershed advocacy group, the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) in 2003. The festival’s namesake is in celebration of SYRCL’s landmark victory to receive “Wild & Scenic” status for 39 miles of the South Yuba River in 1999.
