Westport to Downtown Louisville 22 Mile Challenge

 

This is a point to point 22 mile race on the Ohio River. The starting line is at the boat ramp of the local river community, Westport, KY. The course can range from a placid run to a challenging one depending on the weather conditions. As the Ohio River is a major navigational channel, there will be some barge traffic,  & pleasure boat traffic. This race is for intermediate to elite paddlers with the skill and fitness to complete this endurance challenge. Depending on your craft, experience, and river conditions: it will take between 3 to 6 hours to complete the course. Our cut-off time is 6 hours. This is a great opportunity to push your limits and have an adventure at the same time.

* Due to COVID we may choose to run an abbreviated 14 mile up and back course to avoid shuttles.

Friday TBD

  • 3 P.M - 7 P.M: Check-in at Community Boathouse (1325 River Road, Louisville, KY).

    • Mandatory for the 22 mile racers to check-in on Friday.

  • 6-8 P.M: Camping Check-in & Boat Drop Off opens at Westport Park (Westport Park, Westport, KY 40077)

  • 6:30 A.M: 22 Mile Race Shuttle departs from Louisville Community Boathouse Parking Lot (1325 River Road, Louisville, KY)

    • We suggest carpooling as well!

    7:30 A.M: 22 Mile Racer Meeting at Westport Park

  • 7:45 A.M: 22 Mile Race Start at Westport Park

  • 1:45 P.M: Cut-off time for 22 mile Race

  • 3 P.M: Awards Ceremony at Louisville Community Boathouse

  • Registration opens April 1st: $50

  • Register by April 1st - August 1st: $55 (SAVE $20)

  • Register by August 2nd - September 1st: $60 (SAVE $10)
