Captain Quarters to Downtown 7 Mile Race
This is a 7 mile flat-water event that starts river left at Captain's Quarters on Harrods Creek. Paddlers will streak downstream towards the heart of the city Louisville. As the Ohio River is a major navigational waterway there is commercial and pleasure boat traffic. We are shooting for a downwind or flatwater experience; , if the weather cooperates. Paddlers will past the historic Louisville Water Tower, Beargrass Creek, an urban stream in the process of restoration, and ultimately end up at the Community Boathouse dock not far from the beautiful skyline of the Louisville. This event is the perfect distance and course if you’re looking for an adventurous challenge. Depending on your experience, it will take between 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours to complete the course. This is a great opportunity to get into the racing scene, to push you body, and to see what you can do.
