Kentucky Natural Lands Awareness Day

  • State Capitol 700 Capitol Avenue Frankfort, KY, 40601 United States (map)

Overview

Come join us at the State Capitol in Frankfort to show our appreciation for Kentucky's Natural Lands on March 3rd. We have invited speakers representing land conservation organizations around the state and will be providing information on the state of our natural lands.

Kentucky’s natural lands protect important water resources across the state including approximately 245 native fishes, over 100 different kinds of freshwater mussels, and nearly 60 species of crayfish, ranking fourth nationally in aquatic biodiversity, all providing important healthy-stream functions such as water purification and flood control buffers.

Kentucky’s natural lands are critical to support healthy and diverse forests and habitat for our most rare and endangered species, as well as the state’s most natural scenic wonders.

Come join us to ensure that Kentucky's leaders know how important these lands are to you!
